Book Review and Giveaway - Wool Studio Capsule Collection

Book Review Knit Studio

*** The winner is karenina4777 ! Congratulations Christine! ***

Today we’re reviewing the book Wool Studio - Capsule Collection.

First impression when leafing through the book is that the photography is lush and gorgeous. It's designed to be a collection of wearable pieces that will enhance your wardrobe, and can go from casual to office wear.

Some of the sweaters are loose and slouchy with special details and finishes that add an elegance that makes them very appealing.

I really liked Carmel By the Sea --  a pullover with dropped sleeves and a broken-rib textured stitch.

I don't generally like dropped sleeves - they can be sloppy looking - but this sweater really won me over. It's so pretty.

Falmouth is a slouchy cardigan that looks comfy and easy to wear.

Another pullover is Chatham. Again, it's very wearable, has a pretty rounded neckline, and using mostly stockinette stitch, and it really showcases a beautiful yarn.
In this case they used Mrs. Crosby Hatbox yarn, a merino, silk, and cashmere blend.

The Malibu cowl uses a pretty stitch pattern to enhance its lush look.

It's by Susanna IC and worked in Malabrigo Silky Merino, a wool-silk blend.

If you like cables rather than miles of stockinette, Brewster is the one for you.

It has a band of cables around the neck and more cables on the sleeve – it’s beautiful and elegant (see below.)

I really liked the Truro pullover – it’s easy to wear with elegant stitches as accents.

The Ojai top is a statement piece with undulating waves of abstract cables.

This top is worked in one piece from side to side. It has very pretty cables that flow in a graceful way. This top is really original and arresting.
I'd have to say it's my favorite of the collection.

Here's the Ravelry link, so you can browse the rest of the designs in this collection.

This book includes pieces that are easy to wear, original, and fun to knit. They have interesting details and unusual shapes. I think you'll enjoy this book. The pictures are gorgeous and it's fun to leaf through it. Recommended!

  16. Thanks for the giveaway! The collection is really beautiful and my favorite pattern is the Chatam pullover. Is the kind of sweater that goes with everything: jeans, formal pants, skirts and would be nice on a linen dress in a cold day! My Revelry name is asteride.
