Port Hope Shawl - Ready for Test Knit!

Test Knit is starting!

I'm not quite finished knitting it, but I hope I can interest you in joining me in a test knit on this lovely shawl.
The Port Hope striped shawl is a graceful shallow triangle consisting of garter stripes with occasional strips of easy mesh lace. You may use 2 solid colors of fingering weight yarn, or use 2 gradient sets and get gradient stripes.

This shallow triangle design is knit from tip to tip. It increases in width, and then decreases after you reach the widest part of the triangle. The garter stripes form a graceful V shape and there are strips of simple eyelet lace to punctuate the design.
A very relaxing knit, the garter stitch is perfect for TV knitting or social knitting.
Gauge and stitch count are not crucial for this knit.
The shawl uses about 500 yds (450m) of each color.
Size: about 18” (45cm) deep, and 80” (200cm) tip to tip, after blocking. The piece can easily be made larger (or smaller).

Timing: The test will start in a couple of days, and will end about a month later.
I'm planning to release the design in October, to coincide with Breast Cancer Month {hence the pink color), and a portion of the proceeds of the pattern sales will be donated to breast cancer research - a cause that's near and dear to my heart.

Sound good? Want to learn more? Check out the thread in my Ravelry group.
In addition to getting help and support during the knit, you'll get a free pattern out of my Ravelry store, and a credit on the Rav pattern page.
I hope you'll join us!
